OverviewSince 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five‑county area. Alton Memorial today is a full‑service acute care hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, coronary and cardiac services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24‑hour emergency care, ambulance services, and more. The telemetry unit is a 32‑bed unit with all private rooms.
Patients are under continuous cardiac monitoring and require close observation and care.

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities- Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on disease or injury management, home‑care needs, and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engages in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, families or caregivers, following established guidelines and standards.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
- Handles this safety‑sensitive position with constant alertness and a safe manner.
