Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on night shifts in an acute care setting, requiring an active IL RN license and telemetry certifications.
Responsibilities

• Work in an Intermediate Care Unit (Telemetry) at an acute care hospital

• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

• Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1:5-6

• Required to work every other weekend

• Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including service line or affiliate hospitals

• On-call responsibilities are required

• Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience required

• Navy scrubs are required

• Provide telemetry nursing care, including monitoring and responding to patient cardiac rhythms

• Participation in pre-start modules and training is required and must be completed prior to the assignment start date

• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first week

• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

• Travelers may stay up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break afterward

• Parking is provided at no cost

• No medical marijuana cards accepted
Requirements

• Active IL RN license must be in hand at time of consideration (not a compact state)

• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry nursing experience required

• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale

• Epic charting experience required

• Applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

• First-time travelers are accepted

• Must be able to pass a fit test and comply with facial hair requirements for proper mask fitting
