Required; 1-2 weeknights per week and every fourth weekend (Friday evening to Monday morning)

Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application

• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) credential (CCI)

• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)

• Minimum 2 years of RNFA experience in the operating room, with multi-specialty expertise

• Ability to scrub as a secondary role and willingness to float as a scrub nurse

• Must be able to respond to call within 45 minutes

• Negative drug screen required

Key Responsibilities for OR RNFA

• Assist surgeons as a First Assistant in diverse surgical procedures

• Scrub in and support the surgical team as needed

• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

• Collaborate with the Surgery Charge Nurse for efficient OR operations

• Participate in mandatory call coverage and respond promptly

• Float to scrub nurse role as required

• Complete a 2-3 day orientation with a preceptor
