Overview

Food and Beverage Assistant Shift Manager position. We’re looking for talent that believes in having fun and helping guests have more fun. Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest service the Penn Way by ensuring every interaction includes our Customer Service Standards.
  • Provide timely and knowledgeable service; resolve guest problems, use guest name when appropriate, thank the guest, and invite them back.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of all Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Respond to Manager’s requests in all areas of customer interaction and guest concerns.
  • Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor personnel; provide discipline and other employment actions as needed.
  • Understand department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to supervise the department effectively.
  • Assist Food & Beverage Manager/Assistant Director in developing and implementing department plans including budgets, labor schedules, and accountability systems.
  • Assist Human Resources in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and SOP manuals to ensure compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate based on business volume and that restaurant personnel meet service standards.
  • Promote proper treatment of customers and employees by resolving complaints and answering questions.
  • Lead informative, positive, and upbeat team meetings (All Aboard).
  • Drive restaurant revenues through menu research and adjustments to offerings, service, portion control, presentation, and waste management.
  • Order products and supplies for each outlet using the Stratton Warren ordering system.
  • Maintain viability and integrity of all restaurant operations; supervise front and back of house operations.
  • Perform duties outside of normal job description when necessary for efficiency or guest service.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Policy and Procedures, Collective Bargaining Agreements, state and federal regulations, and internal controls.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, scheduling and training employees; planning, directing, and appraising performance; recognizing and addressing issues.
Qualifications
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    Preferred Associate’s Degree and three years of experience in restaurant supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience; proven skills in managing high-volume casual full-service dining; culinary background a plus; good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Technical:
    Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Micros preferred.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret rates, ratios, and percentages; ability to read graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply common sense and solve problems in standardized situations.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    Ability to qualify for licenses and permits; required to obtain and maintain TIPS certification.
  • Physical Demands:
    Regular walking, standing, and use of hands; vision requirements; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasional exposure to varying conditions.
  • Work Environment:
    Ability to perform under varied conditions; accommodations available as needed.
Compensation

Starting salary: $45,000 to $48,000.
