Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant ASAP

SEN Teaching Assistant

Specialist School, Altrincham

90 per day Full-Time Immediate Start Available

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Altrincham
, supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and is looking for a rewarding position within a specialist setting. The school caters for pupils who may present with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
, meaning resilience, patience and the ability to build positive relationships are essential.

The Role
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Encouraging engagement within lessons and school activities
  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning programmes
  • Promoting a safe, positive and structured learning environment
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Background in SEN, SEMH, care, youth work, support work or education is desirable

  • Passion for helping pupils achieve their potential

  • Complete an enhanced DBS check registered to the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years
  • Complete safeguarding, child protection and compliance checks

  • Provide proof of relevant qualifications where applicable
  • Participate in safeguarding and compliance training as required
