Senior Town Planner
Location:
Altrincham
Salary:£40-50,000
A growing and forward-thinking planning and development consultancy is looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of a Senior Town Planner in Altrincham. The consultancy has a strong focus on its people and provides commercially minded planning advice and creative solutions across a varied portfolio of projects throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied portfolio of planning projects from initial instruction through to completion.
- Undertaking planning research and preparing appraisals, statements, reports and planning applications.
- Developing planning strategies and providing commercially focused advice to clients.
- Managing planning applications proactively, including liaising with Local Planning Authorities and addressing issues as they arise.
- Leading on householder, minor and other planning applications, whilst supporting larger-scale development projects.
- Coordinating with clients, consultants, technical teams and other stakeholders throughout the planning process.
- Managing project deadlines and ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Supporting business development, developing professional networks and mentoring more junior members of the team.
- A relevant degree, with a Master's qualification in Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Planning or a related subject desirable.
- Strong previous experience within town planning, ideally gained within a planning consultancy.
- Good knowledge of UK planning legislation, policy and the wider planning system.
- Proven experience managing planning applications and projects independently.
- Strong research, report writing and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical planning advice.
- Confidence dealing directly with clients, planning officers, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with a commercially aware and proactive approach.
- RTPI Chartered status or progression towards MRTPI would be advantageous, alongside a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
