Overviewof the role
Our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Structural BIM Technician to join our expanding team.
Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in the delivery of projects across the nuclear, defence, energy and infrastructure sectors. You will be responsible for the development and coordination of BIM deliverables, supporting project teams with technical expertise and digital engineering best practice whilst mentoring and guiding junior team members.
This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the UK's most complex and challenging projects, contributing to the delivery of high-quality structural BIM models and information deliverables that support successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities and duties include:- Produce, develop and coordinate BIM models for structural steelwork and reinforced concrete elements using Autodesk Revit
- Support project teams in the effective use of BIM processes, tools and digital delivery methodologies
- Manage BIM-related work packages, ensuring deliverables are completed to agreed quality standards and project deadlines
- Work within project Common Data Environments (CDEs), maintaining information quality and compliance with project requirements
- Support the implementation and maintenance of project BIM standards, procedures and workflows
- Collaborate closely with Project Leads, Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated project delivery
- Provide technical BIM support throughout the project lifecycle, identifying opportunities to improve project delivery and efficiency
- Supervise, mentor and support junior BIM Technicians, contributing to their development and technical capability
- Undertake model reviews and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with project standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of digital engineering processes, BIM workflows and best practice across the team
Essential:
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit with experience producing and coordinating BIM deliverables for engineering projects
- Strong understanding of BIM processes, information management principles and digital project delivery
- Experience working within Common Data Environments (CDEs)
- Experience coordinating BIM activities and managing deliverables within multidisciplinary project teams
- Ability to supervise, mentor and support junior team members
