An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our dedicated and friendly clinical team at Barrington Medical Centre.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled nurse with core primary care experience, including cervical cytology, childhood and adult immunisations, chronic disease management and health promotion, to support the continued development of our patient services.
This role is being recruited under the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and is offered initially as a fixed-term post until 31 March 2027, with the expectation that the role will be reviewed in line with ongoing ARRS funding arrangements.
The successful candidate will join a supportive, forward-thinking and genuinely welcoming multidisciplinary team within a modern primary care environment. The post offers an excellent opportunity to further develop primary care skills whilst working closely with experienced clinicians and the wider practice team.
This post is offered ideally to be worked over 3 days. However, we are flexible and open to discussion regarding the number of hours up to a maximum 20 per week for the right candidate.

Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will undertake a broad range of practice nursing duties in line with experience and competency, including:
Chronic disease management including:
Diabetes
COPD
Asthma
CHD and Stroke
Cervical cytology
Childhood and adult immunisations and vaccinations
Health promotion and lifestyle advice
Wound care and treatment room duties
Support with minor surgery clinics
Opportunistic screening and preventative care
Infection prevention and control responsibilities
Patient education and self-management support
You will be expected to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient‑centred care.

Good IT skills and experience using clinical systems

We are a close‑knit, supportive and genuinely friendly practice team caring for approximately 7,700 patients.

Job responsibilitiesClinical Nursing Practice
Undertake routine and specialist nursing assessments
Deliver evidence‑based nursing care within agreed protocols
Support patients with long‑term condition management
Assist GPs with minor surgery procedures where required
Undertake suture and clip removal
