Job title:

Courtesy Clerk (Part-time). Maintains acceptable store conditions according to Company standards. Engages with customers, bags and transports groceries, locates products and conducts price verifications. Performs various customer service duties while maintaining a safe and sanitary shopping environment.

• Ensures groceries are bagged properly by grouping like items, limiting bag weight, preventing cross-contamination, and ensuring customer receipt of all purchased items.
• Collects shopping carts, stores them in the cart corral, and keeps the parking lot free of trash and debris. Communicates any incidents, actions, or concerns to management.
• Maintains front-end racks, drink coolers, and cleaning supply stations in stocked, clean, and presentable condition.
• Promotes product sales through active customer engagement.
• Takes precautions when handling objects to avoid damage to products or property.
• Follows company guidelines by cleaning breakrooms/restrooms and facing products to ensure proper store conditions.
• Greets customers, answers questions, and bags and transports groceries into customers’ vehicles while maintaining a friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures and policies.

• Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times.
• Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with customers and partners.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Awareness of potential hazards and the ability to remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as possible.
• Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.

• Typically involves on-the-job training.
• Minimum of 16 years of age required.
• Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
