The Project Engineer is primarily accountable for cost/schedule/execution at the Micro Level for each individual project in the Project Engineer's purview and ensuring alignment with the overall Site Portfolio Strategy set by the Site Manager at the Macro Level.
Role SummaryThe role of the Project Engineer is to drive projects through completion through a hands‑on approach by reacting quickly to issues, Internal/External Interface Management, developing strategies to mitigate risks, innovating execution solutions, identifying/resolving resource issue and liaising with Site Manager to secure any additional resource issues to push the project forward. The role is accountable for the scope management, cost and schedule associated with the assigned area of focus aligned with the overall strategy of the Site Manager.
The Project Engineer may also be responsible for delivering solutions that bring value to the business beyond the Project Engineer's assigned area of focus. The Project Manager functionally reports to the Site Manager.
BS Degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
The successful candidate should preferentially have:
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Petro-chemical, refining or manufacturing.
- 5+ years of direct experience as a project engineer and/or project manager.
- Experience with project management of small/mid-sized projects with a record of accomplishment in successful execution.
- Experience with portfolio planning, development, and execution.
- A demonstrated familiarity with a staged‑gate Capital execution process and underlying project methodologies.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively handle multiple projects and/or changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with internal and external clients.
- Working knowledge of industry standards for engineering, design and construction (i.e. NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, ISA, PIP, ASME).
- PE and/or PMP Certification a plus.
- PTO – 108 hrs/year to be accrued weekly;
