Position: HR Manager

Location: 5918 South Highway 35, Alvin, TX 77511

Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00, full or part time considered

Job Overview

This is a newly created HR Manager role, driven by the continued growth and expansion of our Alvin production site. This position will oversee all aspects of human resources for approximately 50 - 60 employees across our Texas operations and is set to expand further.

As a key partner to business leaders and the Operations Director, the HR Manager will deliver comprehensive HR support, including payroll administration, talent management, recruitment and selection, and learning and development initiatives. The role ensures compliance with local employment legislation, maintains accurate HR records, and champions a culture of engagement and high performance.

Key Responsibilities HR Leadership & Employee Support
  • Act as the primary HR partner for site leadership, providing HR support and guidance on all people-related matters.
  • Advise on HR policies and practices, ensuring effective resolution of employee relations and performance management issues.
  • Drive talent initiatives, including promotions, succession planning, and workforce development strategies.
  • Lead the implementation of performance review processes, delivering training and coaching to leaders and employees to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
Payroll & Compliance
  • Manage US payroll processes accurately, answer queries and ensure employees are paid on time.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain HR records and employee files in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
General HR Duties
  • Working in collaboration with the Senior Recruitment Officer to support recruitment and onboarding processes for the Alvin site
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, including employee engagement and process improvements.
  • Assess gaps in policies and procedures and write and implement necessary policies whilst reviewing alongside HR handbook to ensure consistency of labor law and message
Learning & Development
  • Collaborate with managers and senior leaders in Alvin to assess training needs and create development plans for all roles
  • Develop and implement a competency framework for each job role across the Texas office.
  • Support creation and delivery of training plans for new starters and promoted employees ensuring training plans are in place before starting their new position/promotion/new role and saving the generic plan in BMS.
  • Lead on a training topic and design, deliver and evaluate learning interventions across multiple formats, including face‑to‑face, virtual and blended learning and save on to BMS
  • Promote a continuous learning culture and support internal mobility, career progression, and talent readiness
  • Handle ad hoc training requests and suggest ways to address, whilst ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Maintain and update training logs, tracking employee development and completion of mandatory programmes.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Provide regular HR KPI’s and supporting information on attrition, sickness, training and performance management to the Group Director, HR & Development.
  • Analyse HR metrics to support decision‑making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience.
  • Experience managing HR for a mid‑sized team (50 - 60 employees).
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law and payroll compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to support business leaders and drive HR initiatives.
