This engineering Manager position will require intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work.

Receives little direct supervision and guidance and only in terms of specific work objectives and critical issues. Plans, develops, or coordinates and directs a large and important engineering project or a number of small projects with many complex features.

Carries out complex or novel research assignment requiring development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.

Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of engineers and technicians. Estimates manpower needs, schedules, and assigns work to meet completion dates.

Responsible for maintaining a level of manpower consistent with the business plan.

Take timely action to address attendance, performance and other personnel issues within the department.

Responsible for conducting performance reviews. Recommend training to upgrade skills for department personnel and for interviewing and recommending candidates for hire.

BSChE required, masters preferred.

Previous management experience required.
