Maintenance I&E Technician – INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA (Chocolate Bayou, Alvin, Texas)
INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA, one of North America’s largest producers of olefins and polyolefins, is seeking a Maintenance I&E Technician for its Chocolate Bayou facility. The role focuses on ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the plant’s process equipment while reducing operating costs.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and adjust plant critical equipment such as motors, circuits, valves and required analyzers.
- Calibrate instruments and analyzers to the desired range using proper test equipment and calibration standards.
- Troubleshoot motor and motor‑starter circuits and repair as needed up to 5 kV.
- Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment, including pneumatic, hydraulic, electro‑mechanical and electronic elements connected to a LAN or SCADA system.
- Develop work plans covering installation, calibration, inspection and troubleshooting tasks to minimize production impacts and enhance reliability.
- Assist in maintaining instrumentation and support other mechanics and operators.
- Repair, test and calibrate control valves for proper operation and troubleshoot light circuits.
- Use PCs/mainframe computers to maintain records of calibrations, SPC charts, part ordering and related documentation.
- Communicate with co‑workers, team leaders and other departments about project status and equipment status verbally and/or in writing.
- Maintain a constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of other personnel, following all procedures and rules.
- Maintain housekeeping in the area of responsibility.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of full‑time practical experience in process instrumentation in petrochemical, refinery, pulp/paper or a related industry.
- OR a two (2) year associate’s technical degree in Instrumentation, electronics, computer repair, process control or a related technical field, OR successful completion of the ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Program or equivalent certification.
- Must be able to acquire a TWIC card.
- Strong safety orientation, with a proven commitment to safety, health and environmental performance.
