This is a Full-Time 9-month/tenure track faculty position, with a start date of January 2027.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTRequires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends.
SUMMARYThe instructor is responsible for working as a member of a teaching team which develops, implements, and evaluates nursing courses and student learning in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the Nursing Programs and Alvin College. Instructional settings include classroom, online, skills laboratory, simulation and clinical. Clinical times and days may vary each semester and possibly include weekend and evening hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and online learning environments.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise course content, learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials in accordance with program, college, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback regarding academic and clinical performance.
- Promote student success through advising, mentoring, engagement activities, office hours, and referral to appropriate support services.
- Utilize instructional technology, learning management systems, and college systems to support teaching, communication, record keeping, and reporting requirements.
- Participate in curriculum development, program evaluation, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Assist with student recruitment, retention, progression, and completion initiatives.
- Coordinate and supervise clinical learning experiences, maintain collaborative relationships with clinical partners, and evaluate clinical site effectiveness.
- Maintain nursing laboratory, simulation, and instructional resources as assigned.
- Participate in department, division, college, and professional activities, including meetings, committees, and continuing professional development.
- Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to all college policies, nursing program requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Hold a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas
- Demonstrate evidence of teaching ability and maintain current knowledge, clinical experience, and safety in areas
- Hold a master’s degree or doctoral degree:
Faculty with a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing - Minimum of two (2) years of non-teaching professional nursing experience
- Faculty with a Master’s or Doctoral Degree in a Discipline other than Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of three (3) years of non-teaching professional nursing experience
- Completion of at least twelve (12) graduate semester credit hours in nursing appropriate to assigned teaching responsibilities.
