This Senior Safety Specialist position will support our Texas Gas Operation sin Houston,by working closely withfront line employees,contractors,leadership and other members of the Safety and Training organization.

This position will provide safety supportby participating in field observations, safety committees,safety meetings,incident investigations and learning events,implementing

Safety and Health programs,providing safety guidancetoemployees,establishing relationships with coworkers, company personnelandindustry peers,andbyproviding excellent customer service to the Texas Gas Operations organization.

• Provide daily safety support to assigned work groups.
• Conduct observations/audits of personnel, tools, equipment, and work practices toprovide assurance forsafe and effective execution of work.
• Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations on programs,practices,toolsand equipment aimed at reducing oreliminatingrisk forGasOperationspersonnel.
• Participateinandlead Learning Events within the organization.
• Conduct incident investigations toidentifycauses and corrective actions.
• Collaborates with various departments and levels of leadership on the development, delivery and implementation of effective safety programs and policies.
• Supports the organization's SIF prevention strategy through discussions,presentations,and training.

• Review,interpret, and apply workplace safety standards, suchas;
  
  OSHA,PHMSA, NFPA, ANSI, ASTM.
• Monitor and review safety data for trends andidentifyrisk reduction strategies.
• Developandconductsafety training and presentations.
• Maintains relationships as necessary with appropriate agencies and keeps abreast of regulatory/governmental proceedings toidentifyimpacts to the organization.
• Assists legal department asrequiredregardingoccupational safety and potential exposure concerns.
• Participate in Emergency Operations when emergency response is activated.

• Bachelor's degree in Safetyor related technical field (e.g., Industrial Engineering (Safety), Science, Business or Behavioral Sciences) from an accredited college or university.
  
  Ora combination of education and experience where two (2) years of experience may be substituted for one (1) year of education.
  
  This isin excess ofthe experience requirements noted below.
• Preferred valid certification as a:
  
  CSP, ASP, CUSP, OHST,or CHST

• A minimum of five (5) yearsexperiencein
  
  Safety, with preferredsafetyexperience inGasUtilities,Oiland Gas Operations,or Industrial
  
  Organizations.

• Able to bend, stoop, squat and/or kneel and must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Able tolift upto 20 pounds repetitively, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Able todemonstrateand apply manual dexterity tooperatea computer, office equipment, trainingequipmentand training devices.
• Able to view a personal computer monitor or laptop screen, sit,standor walk forlong periodsof time.
• Able tooperatea motor vehicle, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, and drive for multiple hours a day.
• Able to verbally exchange information with customers and company personnel.

• Able to work in shop,officeand field environments, including ability to tolerate exposure to all weather conditions, and if necessary, at night.
• Able to work around potentially hazardous conditions such as moving machinery, energized equipment, flammable solvents, hazardous wastes,heat, dirty and/or greasy equipment and noise.
• Able to wear personal protection safety equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, protectivefootwearand ear plugs, on an occasional basis.
