Mechanic; Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose engines found on maintenance and lawn equipment such as tractors, mowers, weed eaters, blowers and edgers.
• Perform routine engine maintenance on related components in the Maintenance and Grounds department.
• Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.
• Repair or replace worn, broken or defective parts.
• Remove and reinstall mechanical and electrical components as needed.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations in repairing and maintaining various types of small engines.
• Maintain records, test results, and work performed as needed.

• Education/Certification:
  
  High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas State Driver’s License
• Special Knowledge/
  
  Skills:
  
  Adept at using hand tools and computer diagnostic equipment; ability to work quickly and efficiently; strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills; excellent customer service skills; knowledgeable in mechanical and electrical systems; skilled in operating equipment and vehicles as they relate to the job; able to lift at least 45 lbs; capable of multi-tasking and detail oriented.
• Experience:
  
  5 years in related Mechanic position.
• Salary: AUX PG 7 / 261 days
• Starting: $23.40 hour
