OverviewAt Third Coast, every shipment counts. As a Shipping C Operator, you’ll ensure that our materials flow smoothly from warehouse to destination, meeting customer expectations every step of the way. Step into a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where precision, organization, and safety are key!
What You’ll DoUnder the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be processing packages to receive, store, and ship inventory in alignment with purchase orders and shipping schedules. Key duties include:
- Preparing packages for shipment by cleaning, securing, packing, and labeling them to meet order and customer requirements.
- Inspecting packages thoroughly for damages or discrepancies.
- Recording warehouse inventory movements accurately for all received and shipped packages on purchase and sales orders.
- Completing inventory movements both physically and within the company ERP system.
- Identifying and reporting any missing, lost, or damaged materials immediately to the supervisor.
- Operating forklifts to safely load and unload materials, packages, and equipment.
- Transporting materials safely and efficiently within and outside the warehouse.
- Completing paperwork and administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Following safety standards and warehouse protocols for equipment use.
- Performing routine warehouse cleanup during and at the end of operations.
- A high school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
- At least six months of warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of and experience handling hazardous materials.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and detail‑oriented skills.
- Proficiency in completing paperwork and using ERP systems.
- The ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- A commitment to learning, growing, and taking on additional responsibilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
This role involves regular physical activity in a warehouse environment that may expose you to temperature fluctuations. You should be comfortable:
- Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching frequently.
- Using hands and arms for handling, reaching, and lifting.
- Regularly lifting up to 25 pounds, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally moving drums weighing up to 200 pounds with proper tools and support.
