Designation  Chemist – R&D, Quality Control & Production Support

Reporting To Senior Chemist / Technical Head / Plant Manager
Purpose of the Role To ensure consistent quality of all Everbond products by testing raw materials, monitoring production batches, developing and improving formulations, resolving technical issues, and supporting manufacturing operations. Paint chemists typically work across quality control, formulation development, and production troubleshooting functions

Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control (QC)  Test all incoming raw materials such as pigments, resins, emulsions, additives, fillers, and solvents.
Conduct quality checks on intermediates and finished products.
Perform tests including:
Viscosity
pH
Specific Gravity
Opacity
Whiteness
Hiding Power
Drying Time
Washability
Gloss
Coverage
Approve or reject batches as per specifications.
Maintain batch testing records and QC reports.
2. Production Monitoring  Monitor production batches and ensure formulations are followed accurately.
Verify raw material dosing and mixing sequences.
Resolve production issues related to:
Shade variation
Viscosity fluctuation
Settling
Foam generation
Poor coverage
Coordinate with production supervisors for corrective actions.
3. Research & Development  Develop new formulations for:
Interior Emulsion
Exterior Emulsion
Primer
Putty
Distemper
Stainers
Waterproofing Products
Improve existing products for better performance and cost optimization.
Evaluate alternative raw materials.
Conduct laboratory trials and pilot batches.
4. Customer Complaint Handling  Analyze customer complaints and returned samples.
Identify root causes of failures.
Recommend technical solutions.
Visit dealer/customer sites whenever required.
5. Documentation & Compliance  Maintain:
Formulation sheets
Test reports
Batch approval records
Laboratory registers
Raw material specifications
Follow ISO, safety, and company quality procedures.
Ensure proper laboratory housekeeping and chemical storage.
6. Inventory & Equipment Management  Maintain laboratory chemicals and consumables inventory.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Ensure testing instruments remain in working condition.

Required Qualifications Education  

B.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Chemistry
Diploma or Certification in Paint Technology preferred
Experience  Fresher to 5 years in Paint, Coatings, Construction Chemicals or Related Industry

Ensure colour consistency across all batches.
Support development of premium products matching leading market brands.
Maintain confidentiality of all formulations and technical data.
Work closely with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Quality teams to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
