KFDA in Amarillo, Texas, is looking for a meteorologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will love the weather and be able to produce a dynamic, compelling forecast. This candidate will also be a critical part of our large storm‑chasing team and dominant weather brand.
Duties/Responsibilities- Produce and present clear, accurate, and engaging forecasts for the Amarillo market.
- Handle multiple weather forecasting platforms, including broadcast and digital.
- Contribute content for digital platforms, including OTT, station website, apps, and social media.
- Knowledge of WSI weather systems is helpful.
- Some on‑air experience, either professionally or in college.
- Certification and a meteorology or atmospheric sciences degree are preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work long hours, overtime, weekends, or evenings as needed for coverage.
