Manages student learning in accordance with the goals and directives of the school and the District.

Qualifications

Minimum

Education/Certification:

Currently enrolled in Amarillo College with 30 credit hours minimum.

Work Conditions
  • Tools/Equipment Used:
    Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Major Responsibilities And Duties
  • Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
  • Maintain a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff.
  • Ensure adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Report to office upon arrival at school; check mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; request clarification of school rules and procedures if necessary.
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Implement lesson plans while ensuring the integrity of academic time and motivating students to learn and participate.
  • Dismount all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
  • Collect and place students' papers.
  • Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place.
  • Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies.
  • Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/division policies and practices.
  • Participate in AISD Substitute Teacher staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
