Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site School Counselor position located in Amarillo, TX. The School Counselor will provide guidance and support to students in academic, social-emotional, and career development areas. Responsibilities include conducting individual and group counseling sessions, implementing preventative and intervention programs, developing plans to address student needs, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and school staff to support student success and well‑being.

The counselor will also assist with student scheduling, goal setting, and college or career planning to ensure students achieve personal growth and navigate challenges effectively.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in counseling techniques, including individual and group counseling, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention
  • Strong skills in academic planning, goal‑setting, and career or college guidance
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with students, staff, and families
  • Knowledge of behavior management, social‑emotional learning strategies, and student development
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, evaluate student needs, and advocate for student well‑being
  • State certification or licensure as a school counselor (or eligibility for certification/licensure) required
  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is strongly preferred
