Ethos Energy is currently seeking an OMT I&C Technician to join the team at our 3 - GE Frame 6B facility located in Amarillo, Texas. The OMT I&C technician is a multi‑craft position that requires the technician to perform all functions related to power plant operations and maintenance while possessing journeyman level instrument and controls skills. The OMT I&C technician will install, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, controls, CEMS, and electrical systems used in a Combustion Turbine Generating Facility, including but not limited to the Combustion Turbine Generators and auxiliary equipment.

OMT I&C technicians strictly adhere to all Ethos Energy safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs all functions related to plant operations including performing daily rounds, PMs, lockout‑tag‑out, and inspections. Must complete outside operator qualifications and progress into CRO qualifications.
  • Opens and closes circuit breakers as required for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrument and control system malfunctions including transmitters, PLCs, DCS systems, instrument loops, flow meters, pressure switches, thermocouples, RTDs, level probes, relays, and switches.
  • Proper use of all electrical test equipment and other similar tools.
  • Performs mechanical maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Performs maintenance on electrical systems consistent with Ethos Energy electrical safety practices.
  • Reads meters, gauges, and DCS to monitor and record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid levels.
  • Maintains drawings and prints as required.
  • Communicates plant issues and concerns to the Lead OMT and assigned job progress.
  • Uses facility operating procedures and equipment technical manuals to maintain and repair site equipment and to ensure that it is maintained and operated within manufacturer specifications.
  • Utilizes CMMS to report and update all corrective & preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the plant.
  • Performs contractor oversight and ensures safe work practices are adhered to.
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in instrumentation & Electrical technical education preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Familiarization with 40

    CFR Part 75 and Part 60 environmental regulations.
  • Will be required to operate forklift trucks, man lifts, and other similar equipment as required.
  • Reads, understands, and complies with all regulatory and facility safety procedures.
Experience
  • DCS experience is preferred.
  • Experience in electrical generation is desired.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an industrial environment and the ability to demonstrate journeyman level knowledge in the Instrumentation craft.
  • Experience with advanced DCS systems, as well as ABB and Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with utilizing a CMMS – corrective maintenance management system.
  • CEMS and DAHS systems knowledge preferred.
  • Low, medium, and high voltage switch gear and transformers are preferred.
Education Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in instrumentation & Electrical technical education preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers dexterously to operate tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate orally. Sitting for extended periods may be required.
  • Lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Being on call at times is required. May have to work overtime, callouts, and irregular hours as needed to support facility.
