Job Summary

The Low Voltage Electrical Field Superintendent will work within the Construction department and report to the Electrical Project Superintendent and Electrical Construction Manager. They will collaborate with other superintendents and subcontractors, manage projects from start to finish, supervise the low voltage electrical project team, coordinate scheduling and QA/QC programs, ensure a safe work environment, submit RFI’s, and oversee QA/QC. This role supervises multiple electrical subcontractors on fast‑tracked scopes for large hi‑tech buildings and is stationed fully on the project site.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $150,000 annually, depending on experience.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities with other superintendents, low voltage electrical subcontractors, and other discipline subcontractors.
  • Supervise multiple subcontractors and craft employees.
  • Maintain and adjust the project schedule daily.
  • Manage RFIs (requests for information) and submittal materials for review with the client/architect.
  • Manage and oversee cost control and QA/QC programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Provide resolutions to design and constructability issues.
  • Respond to customer/client requests and issues; develop resolutions using technical expertise.
  • Interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with all local permit codes and site specifications.
  • Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates.
  • Facilitate contractor activity to ensure performance by all contractual agreements.
  • Assist with management of project staffing.
  • Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
Qualifications

Position Related Skills

  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of low voltage electrical construction.
  • Experience on large industrial or high‑tech fabrication projects.
  • Familiar with low voltage distribution, UPS equipment, electrical installations on large mechanical and process equipment, and installations in cleanroom environments.
  • Experience organizing technical data; familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams); basic network understanding.
  • Experience with project management software (Prolog, Procore, E‑Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
  • Strong visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a cooperative attitude.
  • Excellent time management, multi‑tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate with various trades and craft personnel in field settings; patience and professionalism are essential.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of leadership.
  • Flexibility to extended hours or off‑shift work to accommodate changing construction schedules.

Professional Experience and Education

  • Minimum five (5) years of low voltage electrical construction experience.
  • Extensive experience on large industrial and hi‑tech fabrication projects preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent, and/or equivalent field work experience preferred.
