High Voltage Transmission Line Inspector
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently seeking a Transmission Line Inspector. This position will be primarily responsible for performing transmission line inspections and may require up to 100% travel. Work will be conducted in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities- Support and produce a product consistent with POWER's mission and culture.
- Support the department in achieving its goals, maintaining high‑quality standards, promoting internal teamwork, and meeting clients' needs.
- 5+ years of active field experience and computer skills to properly fill out daily and weekly reports.
- Capable of photo documentation with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Travel requirement based on project location.
- Knowledge of transmission line work, foundations, stringing of conductors, and transmission substations and facilities is strongly preferred.
- Work up to 12‑hour days, 5–6 days a week if project requires.
- Willing and able to travel and stay for a minimum of 6 weeks at a time for a project.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions up to 12 hours a day.
- Ability to wear company‑provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs or more at any given time throughout the day.
- Walk on average 3–5 miles per day across rough terrain or unlevel surfaces.
- Ability to step in and out of a 3/4‑ton pickup truck several times a day.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications compared with customer or engineer’s standards.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication to communicate well with others at all levels of the organization.
- Prepare detailed reports and present to the customer in an organized, clear, and concise manner each day.
