Location: Y-12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge, TN or Pantex Plant, Amarillo, TX

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide professional technical support services at DOE nuclear facilities. This position requires strong engineering expertise with a focus on project management, technical coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will work on critical infrastructure projects supporting national security operations and demonstrate the ability to manage complex engineering initiatives in a nuclear facility environment.

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline)
• Level 3 - $64.70
• Level 4 - $71.89
• Level 5 - $88.21
• Strong project management and coordination skills
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance (L or Q clearance)

• Active L or Q security clearance
• Previous experience at DOE facilities, Y-12, Pantex, or other national laboratories
• Experience with nuclear facility operations, construction, or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of DOE orders, regulations, and quality assurance requirements
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification
• Experience with facility safety, quality control, or compliance inspection
• Proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools

• Business travel may be required on occasion between facilities or to other DOE sites
• Position may require Human Reliability Program (HRP) qualification
• Beryllium work requirements will be communicated by Industrial Hygiene if applicable
• Must be able to pass drug screening and maintain a drug‑free workplace
