Position DescriptionMonitors and evaluates rotating and reciprocating equipment (2 & 4 cycle internal combustion engines, compressors, fans, pumps, turbines, centrifugal compressors, etc.) utilizing specialized electronic analyzing equipment. Examines, analyzes, troubleshoots, and diagnoses equipment for defects in operation. Assists Mechanical Project Support with troubleshooting and repairs. Works with Environmental Representatives in scheduling and completing emissions testing. Monitors emission levels and keeps engines and turbines running in compliance with permitted emission levels.
Maintains accurate records of all engine/compressor analysis and emission testing. Calibrates and maintains analytical equipment.
- Conduct portable emissions analysis testing for compliance and assist in scheduling and conducting trailer-tests as required, per state regulations.
- Conduct greenhouse‑gas and leak surveys using advanced detection and imaging equipment, per EPA regulations.
- Operate engine and compressor analysis equipment, vibration equipment, emission analysis equipment, and borescopes utilized in acquiring equipment data.
- Develop and maintain analytical skills to analyze data and develop specific recommendations and corrective actions.
- Support analysis and maintenance of plant systems including gas compression equipment, control systems, auxiliary support systems, and ancillary equipment.
- Provide condition‑based corrective action recommendations to resolve operational problems on gas compression equipment and work directly with location personnel to resolve ancillary plant equipment issues.
- Provide technical assistance in the operations and maintenance of plant equipment and train personnel on equipment operations and maintenance policies and procedures.
- Assist in equipment failure analysis and the development of standard practices and procedures.
- Support the identification and prioritization of capital and O & M improvement projects.
Associate’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
Required Experience and Specific KnowledgeIndividual should possess a thorough understanding of the mechanical operations of engine/compressor equipment and their auxiliary systems. Applicant must have good analytical skills, computer skills, verbal and written skills, and be able to work cohesively with operations personnel in the resolution of technical problems. This position requires previous work experience in utilizing specialized test equipment in providing corrective actions to address engine and compressor performance issues.
Certifications,Licenses & Registrations
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record to the company and insurers.

- Good computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software).
- Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis.
- Solid communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead towards operational excellence.
- Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations, and other internal and external groups.
- Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimum supervision.

- Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize and adhere to established work schedules, and focus attention on details and follow work rules.
- Ability to perform required duties with little or no direct supervision.
- Tolerate extreme conditions; work outdoors in all seasons.
- Frequently enter confined spaces and climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.
- Lift a minimum of 30 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- See, hear, walk, and speak clearly.
- Work safely around operating equipment while wearing required PPE.
- Carry a company‑provided cell phone and be available to respond during working hours and non‑working hours as needed.
- Travel required, anticipated at approximately 40‑50% on average, includes out‑of‑town nights and occasionally weekend travel.
- Clear a drug screen and a complete background check after an offer has been extended and prior to employment.
