Overview
We are looking for a Senior Industrial Automation Field Service Technician to join our Rexel Automation Solution steam in Amarillo, TX!
Summary: The Senior Industrial Automation Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site services that support process and discrete manufacturing operations, including evaluating customer’s installed Rockwell Automation hardware, software, and networked equipment. Supports customer systems needs including troubleshooting and system modernization, with programming, drive startups, and reliability improvement as part of service offerings. Supports products deployed or designed in Rockwell software platforms such as RsLogix 5, 500, 5000, Studio 5000, or Factory Talk applications.
Responsibilities- Execute documented procedures on-site at customer facilities
- Perform on-site collection of current installed base through site walk-through and data collection tools in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Demonstrate core competency around troubleshooting Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technology
- Communicate needs and issues with management to avoid problems before they arise
- Manage time to prevent scheduling issues
- Work positively in a team-based, dynamic environment
- Act as representative of Rexel while performing services on customers equipment and applications
- Develop relationships with key customer stakeholders
- Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Articulate the value of services offerings to customers during the lifecycle of the engagement
- Collaborate with customers to determine problems, needs, and goals, identifying opportunities for products and services beyond the original engagement
- Document work activities in professional report format
- Assist in clarification and resolution of customer issues
- Mentor, train, and coach other Field Service Technicians. May act as a Team Lead
- Other duties as assigned
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Exposure to industrial Lockout Tagout standards and best practices
- Exposure to industrial Arc Flash standards and best practices
- Exposure to Industrial Control Systems including PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, etc. (Rockwell or comparable platforms)
- High School or GED - Required
- Associate’s Degree - Preferred
- 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
- Associate's of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology or related training - Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field - Preferred
- Ability to read prints and documentation regarding a machine or process
- Ability to manage time between jobs and during a project or engagement
- Ability to gather data for future projects to support scope development
- Ability to drive utilization to target goals set by management
- Ability to work with sales on multiple customer engagements
- Ability to respond promptly to requests for support
- Ability to learn on the job and continuously improve skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to mentor, train, and coach peers
