Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. They help the pharmacists prepare and distribute medications, maintain the drug inventory and records, and follow standard procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Pharmacists do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

• Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment
• 0–2 years experience in pharmacy services; hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Demonstrates high level of organizational skills
• Demonstrates independent functioning
• High school graduate or equivalency

6. Bending and lifting (25 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
7. Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately. Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work.
8. Potential exposure to agents and toxic chemicals.
