POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vocational Trainer provides vocational training to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a sheltered workshop setting. He/she shares responsibilities with other vocational trainers for the daily supervision, care, and training of individuals attending the Vocational Training Center. No experience necessary, we will train you! Shift is Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • GED, High School Diploma, or ABLE Test (provided on-site) along with 3 letters of recommendation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and remain on your feet.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to complete all training.

Primary Duties:

  • Ensure implementation of all SPOs.
  • Train clients to complete job assignments.
  • Maintain daily documentation of:
    • Consumer Pay Records
    • Incident/Injury Reports
    • Behavior Therapy Programs
  • Monitor all clients to ensure health and safety, providing intervention as needed.
  • Document work completion by clients with D.O.L standards.
  • Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
  • Serve all meals, snacks, and beverages for prescribed diets in a normalized and sanitary manner, implementing adaptive equipment and special procedures as needed.
  • Assist clients in performing personal care needs (toileting, grooming, lifting, etc.), ensuring their privacy and dignity.
  • Standards of Work Behaviors:

  • Follow Advo Companies, Inc policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Interact with consumers in an emotional, supportive, and therapeutic manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all consumers' personal information.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with individuals served, supervisors, co-workers, and visitors.
  • Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional appearance at all times, especially when dealing with the public.
  • Report to work on time and maintain good attendance.
