Position Summary

Position:
Tech – Radiology/Imaging

The Tech – Radiology/Imaging operates ionizing radiation‑producing equipment under licensure from the Texas Medical Board. The technologist ensures appropriate image processing utilizing the acquisition systems and the PACS system, prepares exam rooms, and gathers supplies for ordered exams. The technologist ensures equipment is in proper working order, ensuring safety of patients and staff. The tech maintains a clean and sanitary environment and properly cleans equipment.

The technologist assists the radiologist and providers, ensuring the correct exam is performed in a safe environment, and utilizes the principles of continuous quality improvement. The tech works with all age groups (pediatric, geriatric, trauma, surgical).

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures.
  • Assists radiologist and staff physicians as needed.
  • Shows appropriate radiographic skills.
  • Demonstrates accurate and safe patient care.
  • Uses immobilization devices, maintains HIPAA compliance, and performs contrast injections if part of the job requirement.
  • Utilizes appropriate leadership skills in supervising, delegating, and evaluating performance of students.
  • Exhibits good communication skills, problem resolution and critical thinking.
  • Is a professional role model to all personnel.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees.
  • The technologist assesses risk to patient safety and implements appropriate precaution.
  • The technologist complies with approved standards, including Radiation Safety (ALARA), patient‑related safety and infection control.

    Qualifications Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required

    Current: ARRT, Texas License, and CPR certification.
