We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to help enhance and optimize our mission‑critical systems through data analysis, design, development, and implementation of technical data solutions.

Primary duties include designing and developing data infrastructure to extract and organize data across internal and external enterprise systems using tools such as Denodo or Talend. Time will be split with software design and development in a full‑stack role. Additional duties may include data and code optimization, business process analysis, architecture and design, critical thinking to help maintain production operations, system troubleshooting, and problem analysis.

You will work closely with project stakeholders to scope, estimate, and provide overall technical leadership to develop and implement high‑quality technology solutions. Collaboration with external stakeholders across the Nuclear Security Enterprise and development of technical documentation and instructions may also be required.

• Developing data infrastructure to support application development.
• Identifying relevant data.
• Designing data structures.
• Sourcing data (including all aspects of ETL: extract, transform, load).
• Creating data summarizations such as reports, dashboards, and metrics.
• Performing advanced data analysis to identify trends and forecast future events, including techniques such as machine learning.
• Advancing our team's data utilization capability to enhance business value delivered.
• Working closely with functional and business team members, project management, enterprise architects, system engineers, and application developers to design and develop mission‑critical applications based on approved architecture and business requirements.
• Designing and implementing innovative solutions to resolve complex information technology (IT) and business problems.
• Leading technical projects through effective communication with peers, customers, and management.
• Ensuring solutions are well‑engineered, optimized, operable, and maintainable.
• Ensuring adherence to defined project management policies, change management guidelines, cybersecurity requirements, and software quality assurance processes.
• Interface with IT Project Management to deliver solutions on schedule, with high quality, and within budget.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or information technology discipline.
• OR Master's degree in engineering, science, or information technology discipline.
• OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or similar degree with at least 5 years of relevant progressive experience.
• Demonstrated experience using tools such as Excel, Tableau and programming languages (such as SQL, Python and R) to perform analytics.
• Knowledge of databases, data warehouses, business intelligence systems and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence systems.
• Knowledge required to perform data analytics that includes statistics, decision sciences, machine learning, reporting technologies and/or predictive analysis.
• Experience delivering effective communications, both written and oral.
