Operations Manager
Supervises staff responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of field elevators. Schedules and supervises employees in conjunction with elevator operations. Works with internal staff and oversees any outside contract work/repair of facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Compiles and maintains information on all equipment at the location.
- Ensures all equipment is registered in the preventative maintenance system.
- Ensure all PM’s are completed in accordance with schedule and job plan.
- Ensure all follow up and corrective action maintenance is captured and entered as a work order.
- Establishes and maintains maintenance standards on parts and procedures.
- Provides technical support and direction to maintenance mechanics and non-exempt support personnel.
- Approves and oversees all repairs and maintenance of the location.
- Coordinates all maintenance activities with M/R lead and Millwright Manager.
- Has a functional reporting relationship with Millwright Manager for mechanical professional development.
- Ensure all structural repairs, modifications and alterations are approved by the plant engineering team.
- Communicate and implement Viterra’s EHS Management System and its requirements to employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Develop a process to perform risk assessments of equipment to minimize the effect of failing equipment on the employee’s safety and plant operations.
- (Procurement/Contractor) Review any work to be completed to better understand that the appropriate sizing and design of equipment to achieve the efficiency and longevity needed.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
- 5-7 Years of experience as a maintenance supervisor in a related industry.
- Competency with computers and associated programs.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs preferred.
- Prior experience with planning and project budgeting.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems.
- Development of training and skills testing programs.
- BS Degree in a Mechanical or related technical field is preferred but not mandatory.
Special Demands:
- Heavy-duty, operational, mechanical, and technical hands-on responsibilities.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, kneel, and bend.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Outdoor work environment, including heights and inclement weather.
