Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget,organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community ks under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

• Thorough knowledge of the operations, administration, and programmatic requirements of a large, complex Physical Plant organization, including facilities operations, maintenance, repair,construction, renovation, and the effective stewardship of associated equipment, building systems, infrastructure, and resources.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in engineering management, facilities operations, maintenance, and capital improvement programs, with the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify root causes, resolve complex operational challenges, and develop and implement effective processand performance improvements.
• Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues, establish priorities, make sound and timely decisions, and effectively manage competing operational demands.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical and operational information clearly and effectively to executive leadership, staff, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies,and other stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret, evaluate, and apply technical information contained in construction documents, architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, equipment documentation, project plans,and other technical materials related to new construction,renovations, equipment installations, and building systems.
