Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment.
  • Perform planned maintenance checks, calibration, and submit reports.
  • Conduct atmospheric monitoring and issue Contractors Daily Permits.
  • Assist supervisors in implementing new technology and meeting budget requirements.
  • Maintain an effective spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and Lock‑Tag‑Try (LTT) requirements.
  • Oversee third‑party contract workers, ensuring timely, safe, and cost‑efficient completion of work.
  • Maintain hardware and software for all plant control systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and unsafe conditions.
  • Keep I&E skills current through training and on‑the‑job practice.
  • Maintain technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports.
  • Supervise, direct, and train contract crews and participate in safety plans.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of refinery production area equipment to meet operating, safety, quality, and reliability standards.
  • Inspect, test, adjust, and repair electronic and pneumatic devices and control systems.
  • Provide instrumentation support for control valves, transmitters, analytical equipment, motors, and other instrumentation.
  • Use hand tools, computers, calibration, and test equipment in daily work.
  • Troubleshoot and test electronic circuitry to locate defects using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Test accuracy of flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration, and analytical instruments and control devices.
  • Calibrate electronic and pneumatic instrumentation within acceptance criteria.
  • Document work performed, including calibration and functional test results.
  • Create, review, and update schematic drawings, sketches, and reports reflecting changes.
  • Support and optimize the I&E and reliability of the refinery tank systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenging equipment issues, lead major repairs and installations, and develop performance and safety improvement programs.
  • Plan and prioritize work schedules, guide operational improvements, and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Review equipment designs, manage implementation of new systems, and support engineering and operations teams.
  • Mentor contract team members and drive initiatives that strengthen I&E integrity and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, analyze data to identify trends and root causes, and ensure regulatory and company compliance.
  • Communicate clearly and provide actionable insights to achieve organizational goals while maintaining safety and efficiency.
  • Perform on‑call duties for I&E and technical issues.
What You’ll Bring – Required
  • Legally authorized to work in the posting country.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to climb up to 50 feet, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform required physical tasks as outlined.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in harsh weather, alone as needed, and travel up to 100% of the time.
  • Capacity to work overtime and respond to emergency calls.
  • Experience working with chemicals, personal protective equipment, firefighting duties, and high‑pressure hydrocarbons.
  • Experience working with electrical power and components, digital/analog circuitry, or OMNI flow computer.
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
  • Associate’s degree in electrical maintenance, instrumentation, or industrial electronics.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience (refining, midstream, pipelines, terminals) or military experience.
