7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

• Assists in the installation of new equipment.
• Assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
• Trains Level 1 and 2 Maintenance personnel.
• Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
• Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
• Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area at all times.
• Responsible for using assigned safety equipment including a bump cap, safety glasses or goggles, welding protection, and a safety harness; familiar with and observes all company safety rules and regulations.
• Attends scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 3‑5+ years of experience with rendering or other similar plant equipment.
• Demonstrated advanced welding, piping and fabrication skills – a must.
  • Must pass skills test on 480 V combination starter/breaker box and control voltage for combination box.

• High School Diploma or vocational school training preferred.
• General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnose problems with motors and other equipment.
• Good math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

• Frequently required to push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Frequently required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and crouch.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
• May be asked to travel to other plants for construction projects.
• May need to work nights and weekends; available "on call" as needed.

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and or slippery floors and high heat or cold temperatures.
