Skilled Construction Laborer – Pallet Repair Operator

Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full‑time Skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Amarillo, Texas.

• Hourly Pay $18.00 per hour
• Additional Pay: $0.50 piece rate after training (may replace hourly rate)
• Schedule:
  
  Second Shift Monday – Friday, 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
• Pay is weekly

  Pallets
• Equipment:
  Hammer, Prybar, power tools such as Nail Gun, Grinder, Saw

• Use pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets.
• Place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards, and secure boards in place.
• Stand for long periods of time (8–10 hours) and lift up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.
• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate meeting company standards.
• Operate pry bar to detach damaged boards, hammer, grinder, saw, and 25 lb nail gun to assemble components.
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from stack to repair table.
• Ensure pallets meet CHEP quality control audit.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Conduct operations promoting safety; comply with OSHA and MSDS standards; wear all safety equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 0–1 year in carpentry or construction background (preferred).
• Basic math comprehension.
• Ability to operate power tools safely.
• Ability to follow repair process.
• Ability to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs using proper techniques.
• Capability to stand and walk for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day).
• Ability to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
