SCOPE: Prepare and clean gearboxes and component parts for refurbishment and assembly along with assisting in assembly when needed.
Special Skills / Requirements
- Operate overhead crane and forklift.
- Operate large parts washer/sandblast machine.
- Operate forklift.
- Mechanically inclined with gearbox assembly preferred.
- Use handheld power and manual tools.
- Ability to work accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner, while maintaining safety as a priority.
- High attention to detail and self‑motivation skills.
- Be computer literate.
Education requirements /
Experience:
High school diploma or GED. 3–5 years of mechanical assembly experience, gearbox preferred.
Responsibilities
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Maintain a safe and clean workstation per 5s practices.
- Work in a team environment to accomplish goals.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, stand, bend and squat for 8 hours.
- Manage time and complete job in a safe manner.
- Utilize handheld precision measuring tools such as micrometers and depth mic.
- Perform quality work inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specifications.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety.
