CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Second Baptist Church of Amarillo is seeking a gifted and compassionate Children's Ministry and Event Director to provide leadership to a growing ministry serving children and their families.

At Second Baptist, we believe children's ministry is far more than providing activities for children while adults attend church. It is an opportunity to partner with parents in laying a biblical foundation that can shape a child for a lifetime.

The Children's Ministry Director will provide leadership and oversight for children's ministries from birth through elementary age, including Nursery Coordination, Sunday ministries, Wednesday programming, special events, and other opportunities for children and families.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Providing biblically faithful and age-appropriate children's ministry.
• Recruiting, training, encouraging, and coordinating children's ministry volunteers.
• Partnering with parents and families in the spiritual development of their children.
• Selecting and implementing sound biblical curriculum.
• Coordinating Sunday, Wednesday, and special children's ministry programming.
• Maintaining appropriate safety, security, check-in, and volunteer procedures.
• Developing ministry opportunities that reach children and families in our community.
• Working closely with the pastoral staff and other ministry leaders as part of the overall mission of Second Baptist Church.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a mature Christian testimony, a love for children and families, strong organizational and relational skills, and a commitment to the authority of Scripture. Formal biblical, ministry, and/or children education is preferred.

Candidates must be able to serve in agreement with the doctrine and ministry direction of Second Baptist Church and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
