Clinical Research RN Sr – Amarillo, TX
Maryland Oncology Hematology (Texas Oncology) is looking for a Full‑time Clinical Research Nurse (RN) to join our team in Amarillo, TX. This position supports the clinic as a nurse in oncology clinical research, providing care for patients receiving cutting‑edge treatments within the oncology clinic.
OverviewThis is a Full‑time Monday‑Friday 8:30 am–5 pm position with no weekends, on‑call, or major holidays.

What does the Clinical Research Nurse (RN) do?This position offers a unique opportunity to work as a nurse in oncology clinical research. You will provide care for patients receiving cutting‑edge treatments, managing the cancer patient throughout their journey, and serving as a liaison between clinic departments to ensure proper trial conduct.
Responsibilities- Work closely with physicians to identify and screen potential patients for clinical trial participation.
- Present trial concepts and details to oncology patients while conducting the informed consent process.
- Assess patients for adverse events and/or changes in condition.
- Provide staff and patient education regarding the management and administration of investigational product.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation and data entry to meet trial requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between clinic departments to ensure proper trial conduct.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of practice.
- Current BLCS or ACLS certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required, preferably in oncology.
- OCN certification strongly preferred.
- CCRC or CCRP certification preferred.
The work environment includes potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for prolonged periods; lifting up to 40 lbs; and corrected vision/hearing in normal range.
