Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)The LTIP typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. What Does the Registered Nurse Do?(Including but not Limited to)
Under general supervision, provide professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrate knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences in the patient population. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient chart.
- As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Interprofessional collaboration.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
- Current RN state license issued by the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lb. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
