Job Opportunity Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to join our team for a night shift position. The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in PACU and pain management, along with the ability to assist anesthesia professionals during postoperative procedures.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
• Assist anesthesia providers in epidural insertions and postoperative pain management.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status, addressing any complications that arise.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including pain management and IV therapies.
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and report any changes to the medical team.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a PACU environment.
• Travel experience is required.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BLS, and PALS (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:2.
• Familiarity with Trauma Level II protocols.

• Proficient in managing cardiovascular patient care, including knowledge of cardiac arrest protocols and CPR.
• Experienced with various surgical procedures, including but not limited to abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, vascular surgery, and other major surgeries.
• Strong skills in respiratory care, including the management of ventilated patients and airway assessments.
• Knowledgeable in medications administration and cardiac monitoring procedures.
• Ability to care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

• Shift: 3x12 hours (18:00 - 06:30)
• On-call requirements: 6 calls over a 6-week period.
• Weekend shifts: 4 per contract.
• Orientation: 12 hours.
