American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro/Ortho Med/Surg unit requiring at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• Work on a combined Neuro/Ortho Med/Surg unit
• Patient population includes CVA, mood disorders, substance withdrawal, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, and total joint replacement cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Epic for charting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Floating required
• Weekend shifts required

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management

• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former staff must be separated from facility employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
• Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Orientation includes onsite completion of training modules
