American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with recent Epic experience for a day shift position requiring at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
- Recent Epic experience within the last 6 months required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
- Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitored in a centralized unit
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
- 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Free floating charge nurse model with a house discharge nurse covering all departments
- Charting performed in Epic
- Provide direct patient care to med/surg population with telemetry monitoring needs
- First time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, local candidates not accepted
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
