Lead Alarm Technician – Austin

TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Alarm Technician based in Austin. The role is contract-to-hire.

The Lead Technician is responsible for scheduling techs for daily duties, submitting daily reports, and coordinating with managers. Technicians will pre‑wire and install security systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms. The Lead Technician will work with other techs and Project Managers by completing and filing all project documentation while ensuring projects are performed on time and on budget.

• Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all security systems at customer sites.
• Install video surveillance systems, IP and analog cameras, wireless cameras, access control panels, intrusion panels, magnetic locks, card readers, motion sensors, door contacts, electric door strikes, and related equipment.
• Perform assigned projects within scope, in a timely manner, and on budget.
• Provide customers with system operation and training.
• Maintain concise daily records and adhere to operational standards and practices.
• Coordinate with Project Management and Field Technicians for project scheduling.

Ability to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. Use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on a keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Use of power tools required; occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Expert Level

Contract to Hire; based in Amarillo, TX.
