HVAC Lead Service Technician

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Service Technician IV. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Location: Amarillo, TX – Onsite

What You Will Do
  • Oversee and lead up to 10 HVAC Technicians
  • Ensure timely and cost‑effective start‑up of maintenance contracts, efficient installation of jobs, and delivery of maintenance according to contract requirements, resolving customer concerns promptly
  • Review contracts/projects, implement corrective actions to keep costs aligned with financial plans, negotiate subcontract agreements, and serve as primary contact
  • Use the Service Management System to establish effective work plans, maximize team capabilities, and provide prompt customer service ensuring all contract commitments are met
  • Perform or provide expert counsel on scheduled preventive maintenance for all equipment under contract, inspecting and verifying satisfactory working order
  • Assist other Service Technicians with emergency service calls to minimize downtime, providing coaching, troubleshooting, repair, and recommending revisions/upgrades when necessary
  • Support Sales with job site surveys, estimate reviews for accuracy, participation in sales promotion programs, and technical training guidance. Participate in the Estimate Review Process as required
  • Contribute to accident and illness prevention, implement safe work practices, and provide safety training per OSHA and Daikin Applied policies
  • Provide timely, proactive feedback to reinforce positive results or reduce potential callbacks
  • Participate in performance evaluations of Service Technicians, offering feedback on technical skills, attitude, thoroughness, teamwork, and development suggestions
  • Maintain current knowledge and provide training on all Daikin Applied products covering installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
  • Travel locally, with occasional overnight travel

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Rotational emergency call support as required
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required when necessary
  • Work visa sponsorship not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial HVAC industry experience
  • Experience mentoring less experienced technicians
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides training during onboarding)
  • Current first aid/CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 – $55.30 in Texas. The range represents the pay for all positions in this job grade. Individual base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
