Job DescriptionAre you an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for consistent night work without the hassle of multi-drop deliveries or handballing? We’re recruiting reliable drivers to join an established transport operation in the Belper and Ambergate area, offering regular trunking work and ongoing employment.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers who prefer longer-distance depot runs, a structured working pattern and a role focused primarily on driving.
You’ll be responsible for transporting palletised goods between depots as part of a well-organised pallet network operation. Your main priority will be completing trunking runs safely and efficiently, ensuring loads arrive at their destination on schedule.
There are no multi-drop deliveries or manual unloading duties involved, making this a straightforward driving position. You’ll also need to complete daily vehicle safety checks, report any defects promptly and follow company procedures, road transport legislation and health and safety requirements.

This is an ongoing temporary position offering the potential for long‑term work and a reliable weekly schedule.

Hourly Rate:
The role pays £17.00 per hour, with ongoing work and consistent Monday-to-Friday night shifts. Drivers paid through PAYE can accrue up to 28 days of annual leave pro rata.

Working Hours:
The position runs Monday to Friday on night shifts, with flexible start times between 17:00 and 22:00. This provides a regular weekday schedule with consistent work available throughout the week.
Closing Date:
Experience & QualificationsYou must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence with Category C+E entitlement, a valid Driver CPC qualification and a Digital Tachograph Card. Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience is essential, while experience with trunking or pallet network operations would be advantageous.
You’ll need to be dependable, safety‑conscious and capable of completing journeys responsibly while following all relevant transport regulations.
