Location:

YHA Ambleside, Lake Windermere, England & Wales. Salary: £13.13 per hour (applicable to all, including those under 21).

Hours:

25–42.5 per week. Staff accommodation available at £69.83 per week.

• Guiding and supporting team members working in all areas of the hostel, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Using our systems for efficient guest check‑ins and check‑outs, food and beverage sales and service and other management functions.
• Carrying out housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable, clean environment for all visitors.
• Assisting in the preparation of food and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality, and pride that will influence more sales.
• Deputising for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence.

• Experience of working face‑to‑face with customers.
• Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service.
• Experience of managing a team, experience of leading others, providing guidance to members of your team (desirable).
• Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable).
• Ability to manage varying pressures, including peaks in workload demands and prioritise conflicting duties.
• Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) – able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
• Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA and what YHA does and how we do it.
