Position Overview

The OHSA Manager provides leadership and strategic direction in occupational safety, health, and environmental management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards. This role partners with plant leadership to drive a strong safety culture, reduce risk, and support continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental (OSHE / EHS)
  • Implement and maintain Amcor's EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and corporate standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards through risk assessments and preventive measures.
  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes related to safety, health, and environmental impacts.
  • Oversee contractor safety compliance, including onboarding, training, and site monitoring.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; analyze trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain knowledge of OSHA and EHS regulations, including coordination of OSHA 300 log updates and required submissions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external regulatory agencies and inspections, including OSHA and environmental audits.
  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and behavioral safety observations; coach leaders and employees on safe work practices.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the annual EHS budget to ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Design, deliver, and track safety and environmental training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Support leadership in developing job-specific training programs with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and administer employee safety recognition and incentive programs.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits, reporting requirements, and waste management standards.
  • Lead the plant safety committee and communicate EHS performance, initiatives, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture focused on injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS compliance requirements.
  • Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety training.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
