We are seeking a skilled Lighting Designer/Master Electrician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for lighting technology and a keen eye for detail. As a Lighting Designer, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lighting equipment for various events, performances, or productions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and teamwork to ensure the optimal lighting experience for our clients and audiences.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Equipment Setup and Operation:
Install, configure, and operate lighting fixtures, control consoles, dimmers, and other related equipment according to production requirements. - Lighting Design:
Collaborate with directors, producers, and other team members to develop lighting designs that enhance the overall aesthetic and mood of the production or event. - Technical Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve technical issues related to lighting equipment, including troubleshooting electrical systems, addressing connectivity issues, and adjusting lighting levels as needed. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, fellow team members, and performers. - Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on lighting equipment, such as cleaning lenses, replacing bulbs, and conducting inspections to ensure optimal performance. - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with other technicians, stagehands, and production staff to coordinate lighting cues, transitions, and special effects during rehearsals and performances. - Adaptability:
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in adjusting lighting setups based on changing production requirements, venue specifications, or client preferences. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of lighting plots, cue lists, equipment inventory, and other relevant documentation to facilitate efficient setup and operation.
- Previous experience working as a lighting technician in a professional theater, film production, concert venue, or event setting.
- Proficiency in operating lighting consoles, such as High End Systems Hog4, Grand
MA, or similar systems. - Strong understanding of lighting principles, including color theory, beam angles, and fixture placement.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues under pressure.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols, and industry standards for lighting equipment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by production schedules.
- This position requires extensive traveling.
