The Experiential / Environmental Designer creates immersive, branded environments for live events by blending architecture, graphics, technology, and storytelling. This role is responsible for everything from initial concept (sets, stages, interactive zones) to physical execution, managing vendors, budgets, and production logistics to craft unforgettable attendee journeys. The designer ensures a cohesive, high‑impact experience that brings the brand vision to reality.
Core Responsibilities Concept & Design- Develop immersive themes, storyboards, and visual designs for event spaces, stages, lighting, and interactive elements.
- Translate brand identity into physical form through compelling environmental graphics, signage, and way finding packages.
- Produce artwork files for presentation and production.
- Manage build‑out, overseeing vendors (AV, scenic, tech), contracts, timelines, and budgets for flawless execution.
- Coordinate pricing, fabrication, and installation of signage packages with vendors.
- Oversee setup, installation, and event‑day operations to ensure seamless attendee flow and experience.
- Coordinate lighting, audio, video, projections, and hybrid/virtual event tech to support the overall experience.
- Utilize 3D modeling and rendering software to bring concepts to life and create realistic visualizations of event spaces and installations.
- Collaborate with creative directors, marketing, sponsors, and production teams to align on goals and vision.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams.
- Manage design, entitlements, fabrication, and installation process, schedules, and budgets; provide regular updates to project management team.
- Attend client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and address feedback.
- Conduct post‑event evaluations to identify areas of improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, architecture, interior design, or related field; 3–7+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in 3D rendering, CAD, and graphic design tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; Bluebeam, Revit, Sketch Up/Enscape a plus).
- Experience with all phases of project development from conceptual design through construction administration.
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications.
- Experience working on exterior and interior signage design and implementation.
- Strong conceptual, artistic, and creative abilities with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel domestically to project sites and meetings.
- Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful event design projects required.
- Architect spaces that evoke emotion—designing environments for concerts, corporate events, festivals, and brand activations.
- Turn abstract ideas into memorable physical moments, ensuring every detail aligns with the client’s vision.
- Source props, furniture, and décor; produce graphics using brand guidelines and prepare files for print.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative techniques to continuously elevate the quality of event experiences.
